Izetbegović: OHR must remain until the conditions from the 5+2 Agenda are met

(Patria) - The resignation of Christian Schmidt from the position of High Representative is his personal choice and act. Regardless of speculation about the reasons and circumstances under which it occurred, it must not have any consequences for the role and functioning of the OHR institution, stated SDA president Bakir Izetbegović.

"Schmidt's successor must be appointed as soon as possible. The OHR, with full powers, including the Bonn Powers, must remain until the conditions from the 5+2 Agenda are met and effective mechanisms for unblocking the state are established, which would replace the role of the High Representative.

Any other scenario leads Bosnia and Herzegovina towards new blockades and additional instability. All key international actors operating within the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) must be aware of the dangers that such a development of events brings," Izetbegović stated.
