Izetbegović: Švrakić's passing a great loss, but his lasting legacy remains

(Patria) - I received the news of the death of Emin Švrakić with sadness - a patriot, visionary, and man who made an immeasurable contribution to the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the building of its media foundations, said SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović.

- Emin Švrakić was among the first to recognize the impending threat and the need to organize the people in defense of the homeland. As one of the founders of the Green Berets, he made a huge contribution in the first, hardest days of resistance to aggression. Understanding that the fight for Bosnia and Herzegovina is waged not only with weapons but also with truth, he was also one of the founders of Hayat Television – a media outlet that remained true to the mission of truthful and free information.

His passing is a great loss, but his lasting legacy remains, founded on courage, determination, and love for the homeland. I express my sincere condolences to his family, comrades, and friends. May he rest in eternal peace and may he be thanked, concluded Izetbegović.
