Izetbegović responds to Turner: You have the wrong address, I do not stand behind the Sutorina initiative

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington received a letter from Congressman Michael Turner addressed to member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović on February 26, 2015, and it was officially delivered to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., the Cabinet of member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović, via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

U.S. Congressman Mike Turner warned Bosnian officials that Washington could suspend aid if official Sarajevo does not abandon the dispute with Montenegro over Sutorina.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović today sent a response to Congressman Turner with the following content, which will be delivered to him via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington:

Dear Mr. Turner,

Regarding the views expressed in your letter on the issue of the demarcation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, I believe you have addressed them to the wrong address. The discussion on this matter is taking place in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it would be appropriate for you to have sent your letter to the leadership and competent bodies of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If, despite the aforementioned fact, you decided to write to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then you should have addressed the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Mladen Ivanić, who represents this institution.

Of course, there is a possibility that you addressed the letter to me because you were suggested that I personally stand behind the initiative launched in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina seeking a review of the border agreement. Those who may have directed you towards me have clearly made a mistake.
