Izetbegović refused to answer questions, Šehić told journalists they could leave the hall!

At the Amphitheater of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, a press conference was organized today by director Sebija Izetbegović and discipline directors, where the results of work in 2018 were presented with a review of the period from 2016 to 2019. We remind you that the KS Assembly did not adopt the KCUS Business Report for 2017.

Director Izetbegović's presentation lasted half an hour, and after she finished, she refused to answer journalists' questions before the discipline directors' presentations were completed.

After journalists pointed out that their recording equipment had limited battery life and that everything was taking too long, they again requested that Director Izetbegović answer the journalists' questions first, which was why they had come in large numbers. She refused again, saying: "You can't!"

Journalists said that the statistical data could be sent to them in the form of a press release, but KCUS spokesperson Muamera Šehić told journalists that if they couldn't wait, they could leave the press conference.

A journalist from the Patria agency did just that. The addresses of other discipline directors followed.

The questions we wanted to ask Director Izetbegović concerned the number of professors at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, out of a total of 3,357 employees. How many professors have left KCUS in the past three years, from which fields can specialization not be performed due to a lack of professors? Why are secondary level care services rejected and patients are massively sent to the "Abdulah Nakaš" General Hospital? Why does Director Izetbegović claim they have the necessary reagents, when she herself stated that they could not use certain equipment from June last year and only now received reagents? When will the patient's pathway finally be established, which would avoid complications on Mondays and Fridays when patients, due to her decision from April 2016, are first transported to the General Hospital, and then to KCUS if it is a tertiary level of healthcare?

So, there are many unanswered questions.

The attitude of the KCUS management is polarized towards both journalists and the media. Press releases are regularly sent only to a few media outlets, while denials are sent to all media.

The need for Director Izetbegović to always be surrounded by discipline directors and dozens of employees who greet her standing and applauding is also unclear.
