Izetbegović: I expect DF and SBB in government

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović announced that he expects both the Democratic Front and the Alliance for a Better Future to join the coalition, stating that negotiations with these two parties are underway. 

“DF and SBB are in negotiations. I think both will join, I assume DF will certainly join, and SBB as well. Some Bosniak reactions suggest it is better without SBB without Radončić, but I think it is better to have as broad a front of people as possible,” said Izetbegović, adding that he will try to ensure DF remains in the coalition with them this time.

He stated that positions in the Council of Ministers of BiH are divided according to the 3-3-3 principle, meaning SNSD received three ministries, HDZ BiH three, and SDA three. 

Izetbegović said that these three positions will be divided among three parties. SDA will provide the Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing that it is an important position for BiH's image, while DF will take the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Security will go to SBB.

The SDA President stated that the positions of both Dodik and Čović are relaxed in relation to SDA and its partners. 

“We will move towards NATO; we will not give up on the activation of the MAP. Leave that to us. The Election Law will also not be easy; if we haven't resolved it in seven years, we won't resolve it in seven days,” said Izetbegović. 

In his address at the SDA Women's Association held on Saturday, he stated that “for two years, he has been trying to persuade Dragan Čović to move closer to Bosniaks.”

“Help me to help Croats instead of you pressuring with Serbs. I haven't managed to convince him yet,” said Izetbegović. 

Dragan Čović, who was elected president of HDZ yesterday, said that the new Council of Ministers of BiH could be established in 15 days.
