Izetbegović explained the reasons why he will not respond to Konaković's invitation

(Patria) - SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović said today that he will not respond to the invitation of the People and Justice (NIP) president Elmedin Konaković to attend a meeting of Bosniak political representatives from the entire region.

Izetbegović confirmed that he received an invitation from Konaković for a "working lunch" on the "position and status of Bosniaks in the region." He says he will not respond to the invitation. There are a number of reasons for this, and he listed only some of them.

"The main reason is Konaković's leading role in the group of parties that, for their own interests, trampled on the electoral will of Bosniaks, their dignity, and national interest. Konaković's position was paid for by Bosniaks and other Bosnian patriots with inadmissible concessions and the surrender of a series of vitally important positions in state and federal institutions and public enterprises.

According to his logic, Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina are represented by a political minority ready to sell their own dignity and subserviently fulfill the demands of Serb and Croat political representatives, which deprives him of the legitimacy to speak about the status of Bosniaks at all.

Moreover, the composition to which the invitation was sent is, to put it mildly, strange. The BiH Presidency member - Bosniak, the Vice President of the Federation of BiH - Bosniak, the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH - Bosniak - regardless of the fact that he was imposed, was not invited, and at the same time, invitations were sent to the presidents of some non-parliamentary parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are completely irrelevant.

The status of Bosniaks cannot be discussed without their political representatives in the institutions.

All members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina elected from the Bosniak people have had and continue to have cooperation with Bosniak representatives in the countries of the region, and in this regard, Konaković's initiative is superfluous and an attempt at self-imposition and self-promotion.

Also, SDA, as the largest party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, predominantly voted for by Bosniaks, maintains regular contacts and cooperates with most Bosniak political representatives in the region.

We will continue to do so and provide them with support in achieving the interests of Bosniaks in the countries where they live. We do not need an intermediary for this, especially not in the person of Konaković.

Finally, I believe it is not advisable for me to have any contact with Konaković until the very serious accusations regarding his connections with a drug cartel documented in the Sky application are resolved," Izetbegović stated on social media.
