Izetbegović: Nikšić has a positive approach, but needs approval from party bodies

In Sarajevo, a trilateral meeting between SDA Deputy President Bakir Izetbegović, and DF and SDP leaders Željko Komšić and Nermin Nikšić has concluded, Patria reports.

Izetbegović told reporters that Komšić and he sought support from the SDP to back the election of the FBiH leadership as soon as possible, as well as the process of forming the legislative and executive authorities in the FBiH.

We agreed that it is necessary for the House of Peoples to adopt a decision on temporary financing at its session on Friday to ensure the smooth functioning of FBiH institutions, Izetbegović said.

However, the FBiH leadership will not be elected on Friday.

- We asked the SDP not to be in opposition to forming the government. However, we expect the SDP to make such a decision at the session of its Main Board scheduled for Saturday, which would provide a sufficient number of votes in the FBiH House of Peoples. We expect that from the SDP. Nikšić has a positive approach to this, but he cannot make that decision alone without the party bodies, Izetbegović emphasized.
