(Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action, Bakir Izetbegović, commented on the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by which Fadil Novalić, who is in prison, was convicted.
Izetbegović says that it should have been "satisfaction of justice". Instead, he said, we got injustice in action.
"It is becoming increasingly clear to most of the public, especially the professional legal community, that an innocent man has been sent to prison, convicted in a fabricated judicial-media process. When injustice is done to innocent people, we must not remain silent. Violence and injustice spread and do not stop with silence. Fadil Novalić is just the latest in a series of victims of an instrumentalized part of the judiciary, which instead of applying the law equally to all, uses the judicial system selectively to prosecute people who bother them, according to the orders of interested groups," states Izetbegović.
He adds: "Through fabricated indictments, verdicts, and media witch hunts, from which almost no general, commander, businessman, or politician who has proven capable of protecting and leading the people has been spared, the strength of BiH patriots is being systematically reduced."
"This is not the first time we have seen such scenarios in which capable individuals were removed to impose obedient ones. There have been such cases even before the beginning of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the short periods after it.
The scenarios were usually written outside of BiH and implemented in Sarajevo with local stooges. The goal was always the same: to weaken the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reduce the influence of the Bosniak political factor, especially the one with a Muslim component.
Therefore, the injustice done to Fadil Novalić concerns not only him and his family, but each of us.
Novalić's legal team continues the legal battle, and it will last as long as there are instances that can challenge the politically fabricated verdict.
We have never given up the fight for truth and justice. We will not now, because our freedom and survival depend on it. Sooner or later, the truth always prevails. We have seen this clearly in recent decades," Izetbegović concluded.
