Izetbegović: We chose Komšić to defend the country, SDA's hand is extended

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović called for the formation and strengthening of a patriotic opposition bloc. He stated that this group must be strengthened and that SDA's hand is always extended. This primarily applies to the DF, NES, and Party for BiH parties.

"As for us and Komšić, it's an old alliance. We have been together for a long time. It's not formalized, but we are on the same policies. We could have easily opted for Dragan Čović, rejected Komšić, and followed the narrative of the 'Troika' and chosen power. We chose Komšić to defend the country. Things are quite clear there. Parties with slightly weaker results, whom we respect and wish to cooperate with, NES and SBiH, are also involved," Izetbegović told Hayat plus.

He added that they all need to understand the necessity of creating a patriotic alternative.

"The pro-Bosnian bloc must be strengthened and not reduced to a third, as the 'Troika' is doing now. We must strengthen this group. I don't know if it will happen in these local elections, but in the next ones, we will appear together," he said.

When asked whether SDA will participate in the upcoming local elections independently or with partners, Izetbegović said both.

"Our hand is always extended. But I hope that this crisis and patriotic reasons will draw them towards SDA, and that we will achieve something together," he said.

When asked about the published unqualified EUROPOL scheme that includes Elmedin Konaković and links him to a cartel, Izetbegović said it was all suspicious and strange.

"Dino admits that a group of citizens invited them, their entire leadership, and they provided passport numbers. Imagine how much it costs to take 10-20 people to Dubai. Americans say there's no free lunch; you'll pay for it with some services. When the leadership of a political party, someone who claims they should have their own party, invests so much, it needs to be repaid. I think a heavy shadow has fallen on a party that calls for justice, and I fear that many things will be revealed through that Sky application," he said.

Given that SDA was also mentioned, Izetbegović stated that its leadership is clean.

"Of course, they cannot count on us. I wish some ambassador would read this. Leaders are not made from criminals. Criminals have realized that they cannot create their kind from leaders. That they cannot get close. These bookmakers have also realized this because SDA clashed with them; we tried to tax them, and HDZ and SDP protected them," said the SDA president.
