Izetbegović: The conflict between me and Radončić has brought no good to anyone

The session of the SDA Main Board has begun in Sarajevo, where the issue of bringing the SBB into government will be considered, after the DF left the coalition with the HDZ and the SDA, reports a reporter from the BiH news agency Patria.

Bakir Izetbegović, the president of the SDA, said he hopes that this body will make the same decision as the Presidency and the SDA Collegium, to continue and finalize the agreement with the SBB.

Asked whether this includes the Council of Ministers, given that Mladen Bosić, the president of the SDS, said that the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers is not necessary and that the SBB is not desirable in government, he said that "in life, but also in politics, one should never say never."

- Who would have said, for example, half a year or a year ago, that the SDA and SBB would come closer in their positions. There is that animosity from Bosić, but I believe that the SDS and SBB can come closer in interests, and I will try to make it so, but I will not put pressure on anyone - Izetbegović emphasized.

He added that he has not yet heard a statement from Bosić that the homogenization of the people is not good, but that he heard such a statement from Aleksandar Vučić and believes that the Prime Minister of Serbia would never have said that if he had thought a little.

- It is good that a five-year conflict that brought no good to anyone has ended, and I expect that with this reconciliation we will get a strong bloc that will be good for the region and the peoples of BiH. Things are moving in that direction, with a good public reaction, to continue the rapprochement and form a coalition. No one should be worried because the conflict is ending, because some cooperation is beginning among all those who are well-intentioned in this country and the region. All conflicts should be overcome and cooperation should begin. This is not national homogenization; it is about cooperation and a coalition of these parties. Why would anyone rejoice at the end of a conflict? It is better to cooperate, move things forward within the Bosniak corps, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the region. I believe that will be the result of the eventual cooperation between the SDA and the SBB - Izetbegović added.

In response to a question from a Patria journalist about which conflict he specifically meant, the SDA president said it was the conflict between him and Fahrudin Radončić, which was unnecessary and caused harm to the peoples.

- We have had a conflict for five years, let's not lie to ourselves, which turned into animosity between me and Radončić and caused harm to everyone. It is time for it to end. It brings harm to the country, the people, and there is no good from it. We need to see what we can do together - Izetbegović said.

Izetbegović emphasized that Dragan Čović was a mediator in the reconciliation, because it was he (Izetbegović) who, several months ago, when the DF decided not to be part of the government, started looking for solutions, one of which was the Alliance for a Better Future.

Asked what will happen if Milan Dunović, the Vice President of the Federation of BiH, does not agree to resign, Izetbegović said that Dunović, when he receives the signatures of 50 or 60 people, will have to do it because then all responsibility will be on him.

- The DF kicked itself out of power because no one forced them, but they decided to be in opposition - said Izetbegović.
