Izetbegović: Konaković only looked for mistakes in SDA cadres, he should return the mandate

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The SDA Presidency session did not end even after three hours of deliberation, but was interrupted so that the SDA president Bakir Izetbegović could state what was discussed today. He added that the session will continue for several more hours, and internal party issues will be discussed.

During his address, Izetbegović stated that the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Konaković, left the SDA too easily, and that he had been preparing for it for months, and called on him to resign, given that Konaković himself said that he was not for "party appointments". He added that Konaković persistently looked for mistakes in SDA cadres.

The SDA president also stated that he would cleanse the party, but did not answer the question of whether a Trusteeship would be introduced in Tuzla, where dissatisfaction has existed for a long time, and about which Izetbegović has been informed on several occasions. When asked how he sees the situation in the SDA, he said:

- There are always problems in the party. Today we will make some reconstructions, we will cleanse the party before this election race - stated Izetbegović.

Asim Sarajlić, president of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Board, said that this party body is in constant session, but that a decision has been made to initiate the dismissal of Konaković from the prime ministerial position, who "slapped the SDA with his moves."

- We are entering the dismissal procedure, but we do not hold power alone, so we will discuss it with our partners as well. But Sarajevo Canton cannot depend on the will of Elmedin Konaković. Today we also made a decision on the exclusion of some members, but they excluded themselves when they left the SDA Club. We now have nine deputies in the KS Assembly - said Sarajlić.

He added that he would not speculate on whether they have 18 votes for Konaković's dismissal or not, and that they currently do not have a solution for who will replace Konaković.

The SDA Presidency also adopted a conclusion that amendments to the Election Law should be completed before the election process and that they will accept only those solutions that are in line with European values and election standards, decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, the Constitution of the Federation of BiH and decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, and for which there is a consensus of all parliamentary parties. We ask the OHR to actively engage in finding solutions for the election of the House of Peoples of the FBiH as well as for the Statute of the City of Mostar, precisely because the OHR's previously imposed solutions to these issues have been challenged by the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The SDA Presidency today condemned the anti-Bosniak campaign waged by certain political actors in BiH and the region, and called on domestic institutions and the international community to take seriously the activities of arming RS and forming paramilitary formations. Also, they asked the Council of Ministers and the entities to carry out inspection checks on the formation of prices of oil and oil derivatives before and after the adoption of the Excise Law, because there are serious doubts that the law was misused to increase prices more than necessary. The SDA Presidency gave full support to Ramiz Salkić in his fight for equality and human rights, and called on SBB and HDZ to speed up their process towards expanding and building roads, and not dismissing the director of the FBiH Tax Administration, Šerif Isović.
