Izetbegović still seeking government partners, Party Presidency session on March 28

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The session of the Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action will not be held on Monday as announced by SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, but on Thursday, March 28, confirmed for the Patria agency from the party leadership. 

Izetbegović said on March 15 after the Presidency session that he expected negotiations on forming the government to be completed by March 24, but that process has not been concluded, nor is it known when a positive outcome might be expected. 
The meeting of the leaders of SDA, HDZ BiH and SNSD, Bakir Izetbegović, Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik, held on Monday, ended without a final agreement. As Dodik stated, it was agreed that the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH belongs to the Serbs, and that all three partners will receive three seats each in the Council of Ministers. 

The SDA continues to insist on the adoption of the Annual National Plan, as well as on several more partners willing to enter the government with the SDA. As Izetbegović said, “the more the better,” given that both HDZ and SNSD have gathered other partners as well.
For now, it seems likely that these could be the Democratic Front and the Alliance for a Better Future. Meetings are expected to be held in the coming days. Izetbegović stated that the SDA is ready to give up several positions in favor of partners. 

The SDA President said at a press conference on March 15 that they are interested in four positions in the Council of Ministers but listed five ministries: finance and treasury, defense, justice, civil affairs, and foreign affairs. After an agreement was reached that everyone would get three positions, Izetbegović did not reveal which three the SDA and its partners would receive.
