Izetbegović expressed condolences to the family of Lazar Manojlović

On the occasion of the death of Lazar Manojlović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović expressed his sincerest condolences to the family, reports the Patria News Agency. 

- Lazar Manojlović has left us, a man who left an indelible mark in his long and fruitful life. Lazar Manojlović will be remembered for the courage and humanity he showed in the most difficult moments of our history.

As the director of the primary school "Radojka Lakić" in his native Bijeljina, in 1992 he refused to divide students and teachers by nationality, he refused to demolish the monument of the national hero of NOB Radojka Lakić in the schoolyard, and he opposed evil with all his might. Manojlović went a step further in his courage, risking his own life in efforts to free prisoners from Batković.

Along with numerous awards and recognitions from all over the world, along with the material legacy he donated during his lifetime to the Museum of Eastern Bosnia in Tuzla, Lazar Manojlović will forever remain in the hearts and prayers of all those whose lives he saved and all good people who appreciate such deeds.

I express my sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of Lazar Manojlović, in the hope that the memory of his character and work will remain a guide and beacon for future generations in Bosnia and Herzegovina - it is stated in Izetbegović's condolences.
