SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The BiH Presidency accepted the invitation for an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis in the Vatican on 02/24/2018.
This will be the first joint visit of the current BiH Presidency to Pope Francis. Dragan Čović has visited the Vatican on several occasions, but not the other two members, Bakir Izetbegović and Mladen Ivanić.
The meeting with Pope Francis was arranged during his visit to Sarajevo on June 6, 2015. During that visit, he called on Croats, Bosniaks, and Serbs in BiH to unity and peace, saying that it is "work that is achieved every day, step by step." He then held a central mass at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium, attended by 67,000 people.
