Izetbegović: The idea and mission of SDA have an eternal purpose, which is why it is always the choice of our people

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović attended the ceremony tonight on the occasion of marking the 34th anniversary of the formation of SDA Zenica.

In his address, Izetbegović reminded that 34 years of SDA's existence have been marked by dedication and persistent struggle for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the interests of the Bosniak people, and all other BiH patriots.

- SDA was founded as a democratic party, committed to freedom, peace, human rights, a benevolent party that our people could always rely on - both during the aggression when we organized defense with other BiH patriots, and in times of peace, when we were the engine of positive processes and reforms that, despite all resistance, move this country forward - Izetbegović stated.

He added that more than three decades of the Party's existence have been marked by successes and victories, that SDA, as the largest and most organized party, constantly has the greatest voter support, that it is always the people's first choice, but that there are also strong resistances and attacks against it.

- Some of these attacks are natural, expected, and come from addresses known to all of us, from those who do not love this country and who do everything to diminish the influence of the Bosniak political factor.

Unfortunately, for decades, counterproductive attempts to artificially diminish the strength and influence of SDA have also been on the scene, coming from unexpected addresses.

There is constant pressure from parts of the media, non-governmental organizations, various analysts and pseudo-analysts who, on foreign orders, try to tarnish SDA, artificial alternatives are created for us, elevens, eights, sixes, threes... are gathered against us, and when that propaganda fails, when SDA overcomes it, then the suspension of the Constitution is resorted to.

We are witnessing just such a scenario. And it shows that it is bad and wrong. Just as previous similar scenarios proved to be wrong, especially the one with the so-called Alliance for Change.

There have been other alternatives that flashed for a short period, seemingly achieved success, and then tired and disappeared from the political scene. But SDA does not tire, it becomes more resilient and strengthens further after such attacks - said Izetbegović.

He emphasized that SDA, despite everything, will not fall into the trap of conflict with representatives of the international community, that cooperation with them is necessary for the benefit of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that, after the current failed experiments, everyone will realize that the most positive progress can be made precisely with a strong SDA.

Izetbegović particularly emphasized that he is pleased with the large number of new quality staff and young faces, the rejuvenation of the party at all levels, and the evolution that is rapidly happening in SDA. As examples, he cited the prime ministers in four cantons where SDA is in power, as well as a number of other staff in the party structure.

- This is only proof that the idea and mission for which SDA was founded are correct, that they have their purpose, and that they have the support of new generations as well. This also shows us that the policy pursued by SDA, everything it represents and symbolizes - and not any imposed alternatives - is the choice of our people - concluded Izetbegović.
