Izetbegović, Džaferović and Softić Request RS National Assembly Session to Repeal Referendum Decision

Requests have arrived at the National Assembly of Republika Srpska from BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović and Deputy Speakers of both Houses of the BiH Parliament, Šefik Džaferović and Safet Softić, requesting a special session of the National Assembly and the repeal of the decision on the referendum concerning January 9th, scheduled for September 25th, stated SNSD MP in the RS National Assembly Igor Radojičić, reports Patria News Agency.

Šefik Džaferović, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, told NAP that if a special session of the RS National Assembly is not held and the decision on the referendum is not repealed, an appeal will be filed with the Constitutional Court of BiH regarding the decision made by the RS National Assembly. The decision on the referendum represents the most serious threat to the stability of BiH. It is an unconstitutional and anti-Dayton decision by the authorities in RS.

Radojičić stated that the intense and unpleasant situation between Sarajevo and Banja Luka has continued, and he does not rule out the possibility of further complications ahead of the scheduled referendum.

- And now I would not rule out an attempt by the international community to intervene, either through the OHR or in some other way. Just as I would not rule out the possibility of the Constitutional Court of BiH intervening again with an attempt to impose a temporary measure and decide that the referendum decision be temporarily banned, said SNSD MP in the RS National Assembly Igor Radojičić.
