Izetbegović: BiH has rights and obligations under Dayton to monitor the arming of neighbors, but this is completely neglected

(Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović was a guest today on the show BHT1 Uživo.

At the very beginning, he commented on the hearing of Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić, which was postponed once again today, and said that "it won't be like this for much longer".

- I think the process is entering its final phase. They can evade for a while longer, but it will end as foreseen by the law. Dodik had a chance, two years ago, when they thought he had changed.

However, at one point, with his arrogance, he crossed red lines, with his attitude towards Putin, towards international ambassadors.

Much has been forgiven to him so far, he is good at threats, he knows how to scare people, he has attacked the Dayton Peace Agreement, very brazen referendums - points out Izetbegović.

He also commented on the arrest of the former director of Autoceste Federacije, Elvedin Voloder, saying that it was "due to alleged crime".

- It is irrelevant whether it was an SDA proposal, it was an SBB position. There was no talk at all that Voloder would take over when Terzić left. When Voloder was proposed, we were not against it - states Izetbegović.

The show host also asked him about Voloder's companies that received important tenders, which Senad Šepić had previously commented on.

- Šepić's party no longer exists, everyone has left, that party does not exist - says Izetbegović.

When asked about the meeting he had with High Representative Christian Schmidt, Izetbegović replied that "he invited us for the sake of formality".

- Mr. Čović was there, then me, then the Trojka, the OHR insists on it. We will make a constructive contribution to valid reforms.

Everything that leads BiH on the European path, everything that is a European standard, we will support, as we have proven as the ruling party. We will be a constructive opposition - said Izetbegović.

When asked who is to blame for the stagnation on the EU path, he said that he asked Schmidt to take a more concrete stance on the ban of the school curriculum in RS.

He blames the members of the Trojka for the stagnation on the EU path, saying they "entered into negotiations with two very experienced politicians, Dodik and Čović".

- Could they have negotiated something regarding NATO, the Southern Interconnection - asked Izetbegović.

Speaking about the Southern Interconnection, he said that it is unacceptable for Čović to be allowed to close the gas entry into BiH, which Dodik, according to him, already has.

Regarding the current work of the Federal Government, he said that they are "enormously indebting themselves while stealing from pensioners".

- Various Touaregs are being bought instead of motorized firefighting equipment, summers are getting worse and worse - stated Izetbegović.

Commenting on the (non)work of the House of Peoples, he said that it "rarely happens that Bosniaks obstruct something", and now all five of them were against it.

He also commented on the statement of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković that the Election Law is a prerequisite for everything, and the "Sejdić and Finci" verdict is political, saying that it is a "paternalistic attitude" that we see "from the east and from the west".

- They walk around BiH as they please, meddle, saying something against the ECtHR judgments is an attack on European standards. Plenković knows very well what he is doing and what he is saying and what he should not be saying - said Izetbegović, adding that it is "completely unnecessary meddling" in BiH's affairs.

On a straw, says Izetbegović, commenting on the military assets that BiH is acquiring.

- When we mention that, we are silenced. BiH has rights and obligations under Dayton to monitor the arming of the two neighboring countries, and this is completely neglected. We live in a straitjacket, when it comes to the fiscal framework, someone blocks it - added Izetbegović.
