Izetbegović without an answer as to why Đelilović-Vranić, who already testified in Mutap's case, was included in the third team

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - KCUS Director Sebija Izetbegović reacted tonight to Muriz Memić's claims on Face TV about the change in the expert witness team in Alisa Mutap's case. It is true that Izetbegović had an obligation to appoint a new team by order of the KS Prosecutor's Office, but she never answered the question as to why she appointed the same doctor, Jasminka Đelilović-Vranić, to the third team, who was already a member of the second expert witness team in the same case and who was the only one to claim that Alisa Mutap had amnesia.  

The third expert witness team was appointed by KCUS, i.e., Director Sebija Izetbegović, by order of the KS Prosecutor's Office. On July 7, 2017, she appointed the Expert Witness Team: Prof. Dr. Sandra Vegar Zubović, Prof. Dr. Kemal Dizdarević, and Prof. Dr. Jasminka Đelilović Vranić. 

The first expert witness team consisted of: Prof. Dr. Abdulah Kučukalić and Prof. Dr. Alma Bravo-Mehmedbašić, as psychiatric experts, and Elvedina Dervović, a clinical psychologist.

For the second expert witness examination, ordered by the Prosecutor's Office, the following experts were engaged: Prof. Dr. Jasminka Đelilović-Vranić, Prof. Dr. Azra Alajbegović, and Prim. Dr. Žarko Savić.

In February 2017, Đelilović-Vranić was heard as an expert witness in the court proceedings against Ljuba and Bekrija Seferović, regarding Alisa Mutap's condition, based on the second expert witness examination. 

She stated at the time that Alisa Mutap had a concussion and that she had not had epileptic seizures since November 2015. Dželilović-Vranić said that the injury to Alisa's head was caused by a blunt object, and when asked by the Court Panel whether such an injury could have resulted from a fall, the doctor answered affirmatively. She stated that Alisa could have had both anterograde and retrograde amnesia.

On September 14, 2018, the Clinical Center UNSA issued a press release explaining when the third expert witness team for Alisa Mutap was appointed. The lawyer for the family, Ifet Feraget, responded to that denial at the time. Given that it is the same case, we are re-publishing his statement.

“In the entire medical documentation, there is no finding that confirms that Alisa Mutap had any concussion. The director of KCUS also does not state that doctors Kemal Dizdarević and Sandra Vegar have completely ruled out the possibility of amnesia. Therefore, it is both immoral and inhumane to state in that denial what is untrue, and to miss the opportunity to point out what is true. She used the denial as a way to confirm a false thesis, which is not honest, nor is it moral,” said Feraget.

He pointed out that Izetbegović appointed Jasminka Đelilović to the team, who had previously given a “false qualification of amnesia.“

“If she had already formed a team at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, why did she include the same member in the third team?” asked Feraget.
