Izetbegović praised the General Hospital in 2013 and announced projects, today she is systematically shutting it down!?

In an interview she gave in December 2013 for the magazine „Doktor“, Sebija Izetbegović, director of the General Hospital „Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš“, answered several questions, first about what her vision for this hospital is, writes the Patria news agency.

- My vision is that the General Hospital must become a teaching base. Students of the medical group can see a lot of good here: excellent doctors, a large number of masters, doctors of science, and graduate medical technicians who can teach students medical skills. This will also be an institution where patients will receive fast and quality service.

So, very laudatory words about the General Hospital, which today, by her will, is intended to be shut down.

Unlike claims in the media about relocating or shutting down the hospital, laying off 250 nurses and technicians, Sebija Izetbegović at that time does not speak at all about similar intentions but about defending the interests of employees:   

- We constantly have before us the list of employees and their years of service, based on which I plan staffing needs. We are opening up to public-private partnerships, expanding activities, and educating employees. We are in constant contact with colleagues from the region and plan several concrete educational programs in 2014, after which we would become a regional center for certain fields in medicine... We want to secure recognition for the unrecognized staff we inherited, as well as to respect the demands from the collective agreement.

What is happening today? Everything said was valid until the elections, after which she seized political power. The General Hospital is not becoming a teaching base, nor will patients receive quality and fast services there in the future, because according to the plans of Mrs. Izetbegović, this hospital is slowly being shut down. What will happen to the building for which she promised it would be the best hospital in the country? The public speculates, but the double director (of the General Hospital and UKCS) certainly knows its future purpose.
