Electoral Manipulations: In Doboj, Polling Station Committees Matter More Than Votes

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the repeated local elections in Doboj, citizens could choose from as many as 85 political parties and independent candidates, many of whom ended up not winning even a single vote. According to the Central Election Commission (CIK) data, out of the total number of registered political entities, as many as 67 won between zero and nine votes in the elections.

In other words, many of the candidates did not vote for themselves, let alone have their name marked by a close or extended family member.

Out of the 85 political entities that registered their participation in the Doboj elections, nine managed to pass the three percent threshold.

What is certainly interesting is the fact that six independent candidates and political parties, who were running for council seats, did not win a single vote, meaning they did not even vote for themselves. On the other hand, 16 parties and independent candidates did vote for themselves, thus winning a total of 1 vote in the elections!

These data, which appear after every election cycle, raise suspicions that many who register to participate in elections do so in order to get into polling station committees.
