Elections for the President of SDP BiH and Our Party: Nikšić Favourite, Race Between Kojović and Marjanović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The session of the Main Board of Our Party will be held on April 13, where the received candidacies will be analysed, confirmed Sabina Ćudić, Vice President of Our Party. 
She stated that she did not run for any leadership position within the party except for a member of the Main Board.

"Not all candidacies have been completed; currently, Predrag Kojović has the highest number, followed by colleague Damir Marjanović. These are still internal documents, and we will know more after the session of the Main Board itself, as well as the Congress," said Ćudić. Around 150 delegates will elect the new president of Our Party. 

Damir Mašić, Political Director of SDP BiH, said that so far, four candidates have announced their candidacies for the leadership position of that party (Edin Delić, Mladen Ćavar, Nermin Nikšić, and Svetozar Pudarić). He stated that 45,000 members of SDP BiH will go to the polls under the one-member-one-vote system and decide who they want as president of SDP BiH. The elections will be held on May 26. 

"We are pleased that for the second cycle, we are demonstrating the highest degree of democracy within a political party. 45,000 members have the right to vote; if 60% turn out, that is around 30,000 people who will exercise their right."

Mašić said there is no dilemma regarding the election of the president of SDP BiH and that it should remain Nermin Nikšić. 

"Mr. Nikšić, or comrade Nikšić, found, i.e., took over the party with 95,000 votes; in the local elections we had 125,000, in the last General Elections we had close to 150,000 votes. We are showing a growth trend, and there is no reason to change a team that achieves results."

Mašić emphasised that the entire election process will be transparent with a large number of observers, and there is no reason to question the regularity of the elections.
