Elections postponed in Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo and Fojnica

(Patria) - Polling stations for the Local Elections opened across BiH this morning at 7 AM.

Bosnians and Herzegovinians have the right to vote for their local representatives until 7 PM tonight.

The right to vote is held by 3,400,204 citizens registered in the Central Voters' Register.

According to the decision of the Central Election Commission (CIK) of BiH, local elections have been postponed in municipalities affected by floods - Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo and Fojnica.

Early this morning, during the continuation of its 75th session, based on Article 14.2 of the Election Law of BiH, the CIK BiH adopted a Decision amending the Decision on postponing the holding of the 2024 Local Elections in basic electoral units where a state of natural disaster has been declared.

By this decision, in addition to Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak and Kreševo, elections are also postponed at all polling stations in the basic electoral unit of Fojnica.

Given that the Municipal Election Commission of Fojnica was informed that the said decision would be considered at the CIK session, they were instructed to wait with the opening of polling stations so that all election material, without being compromised, could be returned under police escort to the municipal election commission, following the established procedure for handover of materials, the CIK BiH announced.
