Election in Novi Grad for the Sarajevo City Council: SDA repaid Biber and Spahić, will not have its own councilor

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipal Council today elected six councilors for the Sarajevo City Council, while the seventh mandate from the Serb quota will be awarded by the Central Election Commission. It is most likely that this mandate will go to Naša stranka. 

Thirty councilors participated in the vote, and after the votes for 11 lists were counted, the following entered the City Council: Alem Logo (NIP), Adi Škaljić (Naša stranka), Toni Vukadin (NIP), Enisa Spahić (independent councilor), Bajro Biber (BOSS) and Drago Jurić (USD). 

Edina Gabela from SDA, whose list received no votes, did not attend today's session. The lists of Hadžan Konjo, Nezir Hadžić and Tajib Delalić also received no votes, even though SDA has ten councilors. 
SDA councilors thus voted for Enisa Spahić and Bajro Biber to enter the City Council in order to repay them for forming a majority with SDA. 

Among the SDA councilors, there are those who disagreed with this manner of voting, as demonstrated by councilor Gabela. Therefore, SDA will not have a single councilor from Novi Grad in the Sarajevo City Council, even though it has the largest number of mandates.
