Novo Sarajevo Mayor Election: Mirsad Ćatić Invites Opponents to Public Debate on September 8

SDP BiH candidate for the mayor of Novo Sarajevo municipality, Mirsad Ćatić Čuperak, sent an open letter to his opponents Nedžad Koldžo (SDA), Samir Imamović (Our Party), Hasan Tanović (DF), Samir Arnautović (Civic Alliance) and Enes Komarica (Communist Party).

- With sincere conviction in your readiness to involve the citizens of Novo Sarajevo as fully as possible in the initiated election campaign, I invite you to an open debate of candidates for the mayor of Novo Sarajevo. If you agree, the debate will be organized on 08.09.2016 at the premises of KUD „Lola“, starting at 7:00 PM. 

I commit that, as the host of the first presentation, I will ensure all necessary conditions for such a presentation method, based on the submitted requests of the candidates. 

I consider it desirable that you also organize these joint presentations at other locations in our municipality. A few joint presentations, at different locations, are enough to convey our messages to the residents and motivate them to a higher turnout during the upcoming local elections. We would enable potential voters to receive our key political and electoral messages from the same podium and within the same timeframe.

5 minutes for each area of the municipality's development strategy (economic development, social development, environment). The order of appearance would be determined by drawing lots.   The joint gatherings would not have a directed, party-political, and fan-like character, but rather an individual presentation one, and would enable:

- Fairness towards voters and a comparative overview of the offered programs; - A visual and presentation duel, through a fair and competitive performance; - Media attention and corrective feedback; - Savings in time, money, and people we gather for the campaign realization:

I expect this invitation to be accepted and that we will show our residents that we want their well-being with our programs, and whoever wins the voters' trust should fulfill their election promises and lead our local community towards common prosperity.
