(Patria) - By order of the Special Department of the Supreme Court of FBiH (POSKOK), documentation regarding the election of Aldin Brašnjić (NiP) as director of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection (FUCZ) has been seized from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Istraga.ba reports.

Istraga previously reported that the acting director of FUCZ, Aldin Brašnjić, requested from the Government of FBiH to amend the Rulebook on the internal organization of FUCZ in order to adapt it to his professional qualifications.

For this reason, the Minister of Justice of FBiH, Vedran Škobić, refused to give a positive opinion on the proposed amendments to the Rulebook for the selection of the director of FUCZ, because the proposal itself stated that the rulebook was being changed because Brašnjić does not meet the conditions.



"Upon review of the submitted letter as a proposal for the rulebook, it is evident that it was signed by the head of the body, i.e., by the director, which is contrary to the explanation of the proposed rulebook, specifically the part 'Reasons for adopting the rulebook', which states: 'The adoption of this rulebook is necessary because, by the Decision on the temporary appointment of the director of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, Aldin Brašnjić was temporarily appointed as director starting from April 18, 2024, for a maximum of three months.

Given that the director has completed the Faculty of Political Sciences - major in Security and Peace Studies or Political Science, and that this is not listed in the current rulebook, it is therefore necessary to adjust the conditions for performing the duties of the director of the Administration'. Due to all the above, we inform you that we cannot provide the requested opinion," wrote Minister Škobić.

The rulebook was ultimately amended when the disputed part was removed. Despite this, Brašnjić was not appointed as director because he lacks the necessary work experience, so the Government of the Federation amended the Decision on the temporary appointment of Brašnjić as acting director of FUCZ and removed the part of the decision stating that he was appointed for only three months.
