500 migrants being transferred from Tuzla to Blažuj

TUZLA; SARAJEVO, (Patria) - This morning, an operation began to relocate several hundred migrants from Tuzla to the reception center in Blažuj. Eleven buses carrying several hundred migrants have departed from Tuzla and will be escorted to Blažuj by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton.

The relocation of migrants from Tuzla, who had been staying at the bus and train stations for months, was organized following a visit by the BiH Minister of Security to Tuzla on Saturday, March 7. Improvised tents, food remnants, and plastic sheeting were left behind by the migrants, and communal services have begun removing them.

Dražen Rozić, coordinator for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), told the Patria News Agency that 491 migrants have departed from Tuzla and will be accommodated in the barracks in Blažuj.

"Currently, there are 850 migrants in Blažuj who receive three meals a day and medical care. There are 746 migrants in Ušivak, and our centers are open-type; migrants can enter and exit, and they are registered," Rozić said.

After the migrants from Tuzla arrive, there will be approximately 1,300 migrants in the Blažuj barracks. Over the past few months, work has been carried out in Blažuj to accommodate this number of migrants.
