Train derails on Sarajevo - Mostar route

(Patria) - A train traveling from Sarajevo to Mostar has derailed, announced federal representative Sanel Kajan on social media.

According to his post, passengers from the train traveling from Mostar to Sarajevo are being transferred by bus from Konjic to Sarajevo.

This is the fifth train derailment in the past few months, Kajan specified.

"I already asked Željeznice FBiH (Railways of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) about track safety, infrastructure condition, train maintenance, hygiene, and similar issues two months ago in Parliament, but they never sent me an answer.

And I don't give up that easily! Parliament will convene at the end of this month.

I have prepared a set of questions for the Railways and I will insist on answers! They must be accountable, primarily to the passengers, but also to the Parliament, which is their founder," Kajan stated.

He added that he will demand accountability from the Railways of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to today's incident.

"This is a message for ŽFBiH: This is not the first time this has happened, and you know it well! Passengers who were traveling from Sarajevo to Mostar have been informed that the train has derailed, and we are forced to wait here."

I have sent numerous letters asking about the safety of the tracks. This is the fifth or sixth time a train has derailed. This is unacceptable, it is an alarm that shows the situation is nowhere near what it should be," Kajan said during a live video broadcast.

So far, there is no information about injured passengers, except that there is great dissatisfaction among them due to the inconvenience they experienced.
