SDP responds to Novalić: We prepared everything for the construction of HPP Vranduk, we don't know what you were waiting for

After FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić stated that the government led by SDP in the previous term had opened “dug-up holes in Vranduk” for the purpose of election campaigns, the SDP responded with a sharp letter, Patria reports. From this party, they state that the construction of HPP Vranduk was a project of the SDP government.

- Novalić's “dug-up holes” were roads and other infrastructure built for the needs of the residents of Vranduk as part of the hydropower plant construction project. This was built and opened by the previous government and we are proud of it – the SDP statement says.

- We remind Novalić that the government in the period 2011-2014 adopted dozens of acts necessary for the start of construction of this facility and secured absolutely all necessary documentation required for the tender announcement.

Also, the tender, as well as securing and finalizing the financial structure, was completed during our term. Our government, as well as the previous management of EPBiH, deliberately left the act of signing the contract to the new government in order to avoid all possible speculations and enable adequate revision of the project by those who will be in charge of its implementation.

Dear Mr. Novalić, what you did regarding this project for more than a year was a revision that unnecessarily delayed. Just as the revision of two other capital projects, Block 7 in Tuzla and the Podveležje wind farm, which we also left to you in the signing phase, is unnecessarily delayed. We hope you will not wait for the start of the 2018 election campaign to finally initiate and implement these projects.

From the SDP, they claim that these projects cannot come to fruition “due to the excessive sale of jobs in JP Elektroprivreda BiH”.

- Your government has shown not only that it lacks the courage to stop this corrupt legacy, but has proven to be its direct protector by deciding not to allow the dismissal of the executive director of EPBiH, Esad Džananović, who is in custody and should have been relieved of his duties because of that. Instead, the government of SDA-SBB and HDZ BiH led by Novalić made an illegal decision that actually aims to preserve the job of a person suspected of selling jobs. Probably out of fear of possible testimony from this suspect, otherwise a member of the Main Board of Novalić's SDA – they wrote sharply from the SDP.

From this party, they called on the government of Prime Minister Novalić to continue the construction of the highway “where the SDP government left off, for which there is also secured money and all necessary documentation”, Patria reports.
