Rescuer of Fikret Abdić expelled from SDP, recall of Kladuša mayor on the back burner

(Patria) - Ibrahim Kajtazović-Bato, the councilor whose absence from the session of the Velika Kladuša Municipal Council caused the failure of the recall procedure against Velika Kladuša Mayor Fikret Abdić, has been expelled from the SDP BiH.

This decision was made by the Presidency of the Cantonal Board of the SDP of the Una-Sana Canton, after Kajtazović refused to return his mandate.

- We gave him a seven-day deadline to return the mandate, so that he could remain in the SDP with some other sanctions. However, he did not do so and was expelled from the party - Razim Halkić, president of the Cantonal Board of the SDP USK, told us.

As expected, Kajtazović kept his mandate and will act as an independent representative. After this outcome, the SDP in the Velika Kladuša Municipal Council was left with one councilor, while there were three at the beginning of the mandate. This fact greatly influences the uncertainty of the recall of Fikret Abdić.

A majority of 15 votes had been secured to initiate the recall procedure against Velika Kladuša Mayor Fikret Abdić. However, everything fell through when Ibrahim Kajtazović-Bato, who was an SDP councilor, did not attend the Municipal Council session on November 24. As a result, the necessary quorum and 15 votes were not achieved.
