From OHR to NAP: The last thing BiH citizens need is any kind of blockade

SARAJEVO; (Patria) - As the General Elections in October approach, voters are increasingly being manipulated and blackmailed. Politicians use any means to achieve their goals. Dragan Čović, for example, openly states that if Željko Komšić wins, there will be certain blockades during the formation of the government, i.e., the implementation of the results.

Threats range from blocking all processes in the country to jeopardizing peace. Fear is used as a tool to secure a well-paid position.

Almir Terzić, analyst and journalist, told Patria that "it is certain that parties will try to delay the implementation of election results, and here I primarily mean HDZ BiH if they are not satisfied with the election results, especially regarding the election of the member of the BiH Presidency."

He believes that the Office of the High Representative in BiH will not react in the event of potential blockades. From this international institution, however, they tell Patria that any blockades are unacceptable.

- The Office of the High Representative once again appeals to all candidates to focus on issues important to BiH citizens and refrain from statements or moves that could steer the political situation in the country in a negative direction. The last thing BiH citizens need is any kind of blockade or slowdown of progress - says OHR spokesperson Ljiljana Radetić.
