From the OHR to NAP: Entities are obliged to respect the decisions of BiH institutions

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - All moves that would lead to the paralysis of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and prevent their work would represent a big step in the wrong direction. We expect all political parties to respect the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensure that they are able to make decisions that lead BiH towards joining Europe, said the OHR for Patria after the decision that officials from RS will leave state institutions.

"Without commenting on the specific decision of the Constitutional Court, which we have not seen, we want to remind that the Constitutional Court is the cornerstone upon which the constitutional framework of BiH rests. In accordance with the Constitution of BiH, entities are obliged to fully respect the decisions of the institutions of BiH, including the decisions of the Constitutional Court, which are final and binding. The presence of international judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH is foreseen by the Constitution. Attacks on the Court or any of its members represent unacceptable interference in the work of the judiciary," said the OHR.

Let us remind you, the President of RS, Željka Cvijanović, said today that representatives of RS in the institutions of BiH are suspending their work in decision-making until a new law on the Constitutional Court is adopted. In practice, this means a blockade of work in the institutions of BiH.
