From NiP ahead of Congress: We have the greatest party potential, we want and know how to change things for the better

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The first Congress of Narod i Pravda will be held on Saturday, 20.11.2021, at the Dom mladih in Sarajevo. The Congress will elect party bodies, including the party president, thus completing the internal party elections.

The Congress of Narod i Pravda was previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and gathering restrictions that were in effect. Internal elections at lower levels, from municipal and cantonal to regional committees, have been underway since mid-2021.

The party congress, which will be held on 20.11.2021 in Sarajevo, will fully complete the internal party elections, thus definitively transitioning from the phase of trustees and temporary party bodies to the phase of a party organization led by democratically elected representatives.

The Congress will elect the president of Narod i Pravda, two deputies, at least four vice-presidents of the party, the Main Board of Narod i Pravda, which will consist of 99 members, and the Supervisory Board of the party.
400 delegates from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina will attend the Congress. Delegates from all party organizations, these 400 delegates will elect the new party leadership through a democratic process. 55 guests will also attend the Congress.

In the ceremonial part of the Congress, in addition to guests, the current president of Narod i Pravda, Elmedin Konaković, the president of the Expanded Coordination of Narod i Pravda, Dejan Kovačević, the president of the Youth Trusteeship, Azhar Sejarić, Mersiha Mehmedagić, will address the attendees...

"The strong growth of Narod i Pravda since its founding in 2018 is best seen through the establishment of our local party organizations in more than 70 places, municipalities, and cities, throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. During 2021, through a democratic procedure, we elected leaderships in municipal, cantonal, and regional organizations, and the First Congress of Narod i Pravda will be the culmination of that process. By electing local party leaderships, we have shown openness to new people, and by choosing the best among us, we have strived to show that Narod i Pravda recognizes professional and valuable cadres who are
ready to bear the burden of responsibility. With the Congress, we will complete an important stage of internal party organization, but at the same time, we will definitively confirm that we are a party with the greatest potential in Bosnia and Herzegovina that can, wants, and knows how to change things for the better," stated the press release of Narod i Pravda.

The Congress will also consider a series of strategic documents that will clearly define party policies, priorities, and methods of achieving them in the coming period. Among other things, the Congress will consider the Proposal of the Declaration of Narod i Pravda, as the official position of the party on key issues. The Declaration contains 31 chapters and, along with the introductory part, this document defines the party as a centrist, state-building, multi-ethnic party with a Bosnian-Herzegovinian orientation. The Congress will also consider the Proposal of the Programmatic Orientation as a broader document that covers the primary areas of programmatic activity of Narod i Pravda. The document contains quite precise directions of action, which are numbered by areas and total 253. Furthermore, the Proposal of the Programmatic Platform for Youth will also be considered.
