KUCZ KS calls for protective measures against forecasted storm

(Patria) - The Cantonal Civil Protection Administration calls on all legal and natural persons in the Sarajevo Canton area to immediately take necessary preventive measures to protect against forecasted rainfall and strong wind.

They advise that objects that could injure people due to strong wind should not be left on construction sites and open spaces, that cars should not be parked near trees, and that staying in nature should be avoided during the period of the forecasted storm.

"Given that, according to forecasts from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, heavier rainfall is expected today and tomorrow, and that an 'orange warning' has been issued for heavy local downpours accompanied by thunder, strong wind gusts, and hail, we call on all legal and natural persons to preventively, for the protection of human health and life, as well as material and cultural assets, IMMEDIATELY take the necessary preventive measures prescribed by law," state from KUCZ KS.

They call for the preparation of adequate forces and material-technical resources for a rapid response to the forecasted rainfall and strong wind gusts, as this will create the conditions for more efficient and faster reaction by all entities of the protection and rescue system.

"We especially appeal to legal entities carrying out work on buildings not to leave objects that could fall from roofs, scaffolding, and the like due to strong wind, thereby endangering the safety of passersby. Also, we appeal to fellow citizens not to leave objects on their balconies and other open spaces that could endanger the safety of passersby due to wind, not to park their vehicles near large trees, and to avoid trips and staying in nature during the period of the orange warning," they warned.

They called on municipal civil protection services in the Sarajevo Canton area to IMMEDIATELY put their organized protection and rescue forces on standby, so that they are ready "as first response forces for potentially possible heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts in the area of their municipalities."

"We remind the aforementioned entities that they are obliged to IMMEDIATELY, as soon as they notice or learn of any danger or occurrence that could lead to a natural or other disaster, submit all data about it to the Cantonal Civil Protection Operational Center at phone number 121, which is continuously operational, 24 hours a day, every day," emphasize from KUCZ.
