Donations for Maglaj Library Still Arriving from Across BiH

Donations for the renovated Maglaj General Library arrive almost daily. In the last ten days alone, they received three donations from Sarajevo, Zenica, and Bihać, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The youth association Reaktiv Zenica and the Association of Secondary School Students in BiH donated 1,000 books. The Gazi Husrev-beg Library from Sarajevo donated shelves and other library equipment.

The latest donation came from Bihać, where the director of the Cantonal and University Library, Ratko Knežević, along with his team, delivered books. As stated by the library director, Nina Salkić-Bunjevac, they have received more than 20,000 books through various donations in the past period.

- Colleagues from Bihać delighted us with a good selection of books. They also have a great bookmobile; we are happy for their success in implementing that project - said Bunjevac-Salkić.

Let us recall, in the devastating floods that hit BiH in May, Maglaj was the first to suffer, and at that time 28,000 books out of the library's total stock of 40,000 were destroyed. The restoration lasted until August 20, when the doors opened for the first users.

Incidentally, this is the only library in the municipality of Maglaj, founded in 1958.
