Ivo Komšić for BHRT: The principles of advocates for the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina lead to war!

(Patria) - This week's interview guest is Ivo Komšić. The interview "Jedan" is on the program tonight at 8 PM. Komšić believes that BiH cannot be divided, and that sincere negotiations can easily lead to an agreement on a functional state, and that those who would divide Bosnia and Herzegovina have a problem because it is difficult to choose the method and form of division, he said in the interview "Jedan". He criticizes domestic negotiators who repeat: "I am not for that state, that state must disappear, it has no future," as well as foreigners for the thesis that whatever domestic politicians agree on, they will support.

"That is a thesis that legitimizes the division of the state in advance, if it can come to that. It goes, if you agree, we will accept, so go ahead, you divide it. But how can we agree? How can we agree on premises that are in conflict with each other? We want this country to be functional, rational, European, democratic, etc., and they do not want that, what kind of agreement is that, what is it about? That we give up, who want what we want, from those principles, and accept their principles. And their principles lead to war," Ivo Komšić is categorical.

I do not trust the negotiators

Ivo Komšić does not trust the current international negotiators because, he says, they are leading the negotiations in the wrong direction. The mistake, he believes, is negotiating with leaders of national parties who want to talk to foreigners as leaders of peoples.

"I do not understand the foreigners. I do not understand the representatives of the European Union and the US administration who come here and accept that concept. That concept has kept us stuck for 26 years, unable to move from the spot. We are even going backwards. That concept is wrong. We have that concept in the functioning of our government," Komšić believes.

There is no difference between the policies of SNSD and HDZ in this phase of negotiations

The guest of the interview "Jedan" believes that there is currently no difference between the policies of Milorad Dodik's SNSD and Dragan Čović's HDZ BiH. He also recalled a recent statement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who said that Serbia and Croatia agree 90 percent when it comes to political moves towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"When it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, they agree 120 percent... That is the continuity of that policy and they do not hide it. Čović says he is implementing the policy of 'Herceg Bosna'. Herceg Bosna was created to implement the project from Karađorđevo agreed upon by Milošević and Tuđman. Just as the ruling HDZ in Croatia does not renounce Tuđman's policy, Plenković says he is the continuator of Tuđman's HDZ policy. They can do whatever they want in Croatia, we don't care. The problem is that this policy applies to Bosnia and Herzegovina and it has received its assessment, evaluation, through the Hague verdicts. The Hague court ruled that it is a crime. That is a crime," Ivo Komšić tells BHRT.

The SANU Memorandum and the Croats leaning on it

Serbian politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Komšić believes, are behaving in accordance with the new, third Memorandum of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU).

"It prescribes for them: You must deny Bosnia and Herzegovina, you must show that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not possible, you must block all institutions, you must not mention the name Bosnia and Herzegovina. And look, they behave exactly like that," says Ivo Komšić.

The plan of the Memorandum is disrupted by Croats who do not live in the areas of western Herzegovina, Croats who did not agree to be part of HDZ's policy and hinder the implementation of this plan, Ivo Komšić believes and explains.

"They are bothered by Bosnian Croats. They are bothered by Sarajevo Croats. They are bothered by Croats from Travnik, Novi Travnik, Busovača, Vitez, and I won't list them all. These are the Croats they could not move during the war. They moved a part and placed them in Bobanovo and Šuškovo village, but the last census showed that the majority of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina live outside western Herzegovina... They want to create that division among us and then Bosnian Croats need to be emigrated, because we are a 'disruptive factor' for HDZ's policy from Croatia and the one led by Dragan Čović," believes Ivo Komšić.

Komšić claims he understands the Serbian project of Greater Serbia, which has its history and constantly seeks an opportunity for realization. If the line from Karlobag to Virovitica cannot be drawn, one drawn somewhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina will do, says Komšić.

"I do not understand Croatian policy that plays into the hands of that policy: That policy does this, it frightens Bosnian Croats to leave here, to abandon, tells them they have no perspective, that the state will fall apart. People are slowly leaving, because if Central Bosnia were to be emptied of Croats, then, that is the main thesis, Bosniaks should be left with Serbs to live and then let the Serbs finish the job with them. This thesis is doubly dangerous, for both Croats and Bosniaks. Unfortunately, in Croatia they do not see that. By that logic, they will have rockets on the Una, in Bosanska Kostajnica. That is 70 kilometers away from Zagreb and 150 kilometers away from Vienna. Is that the Croatian policy that it pursues within the European Union?" states Komšić.

Because of everything happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 'games' being played around it, non-governmental organizations the Croatian National Council (HNV), the Serbian Civic Council (SGV), the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals (VKBI), and the Forum of Parliamentarians proposed the Principles for changing the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"No one can ignore 50,000 people who stand behind an idea and an action. This is a socio-political action. I do not believe that any party in Bosnia and Herzegovina today can gather that many signatures for some idea of theirs. And the significance of this is that it is precisely about citizens. These are citizens who are probably members of many parties, but they recognized that the principles are clear enough, that the platform is broad enough to unite not only citizens but also political parties," emphasizes Komšić.

Nevertheless, Ivo Komšić is aware that representatives of some policies may accept the proposed principles. But the majority in BiH will accept them, because the principles are broad enough.

"It only demands that the fundamental principles on which Bosnia and Herzegovina should function be respected, that the decisions of our Constitutional Court be respected, that the decisions of the International Court of Human Rights be respected. Declaratively, no one is against that. No one will declare themselves against it, but the problem is that those who should implement it, do not implement it," says Ivo Komšić, a member of the Management Board of HNV BiH, in the interview "Jedan".
