Ivo Komšić: They are disrupting security, and they are blaming BiH for the unrest

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Several non-governmental organizations from BiH have drafted a "Memorandum of Understanding of Civic Public and State-Building Political Will of BiH." They intend to send the text to the Croatian Parliament, in response to the Declaration on the Status of the Croatian People in BiH, which the Parliament adopted at the end of last year.

RSE reminds that the participants, representatives of the Croatian National Council, Krug 99, Mostarski krug, Preporod, Serbian Civic Council, Council of Bosniak Intellectuals, and the Association of Camp Detainees of the City of Mostar, stated that the insincerity of the Croatian Parliament, the division of Croatian citizens into Croats and non-Croats, and interference in matters that are the exclusive jurisdiction of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are not good messages for the future.

Main theses from the Memorandum of Understanding of Civic Public and State-Building Political Will of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Good neighborly relations based on mutual respect, and full recognition of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence, are vital interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

The former Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Ivo Komšić, believes that the Croatian Parliament is trying to return to the pre-Dayton era, or rather, the pre-Washington era.

"This means that they are disrupting security here. They are actually creating these problems, and they are blaming Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that we are some kind of disruptive factor, a factor of insecurity, so that the whole of Europe should tremble because they are pushing all of this into the European Parliament. In reality, they are disrupting security in the entire region. We must stop this, they must not surprise us as they surprised us in 1992," Komšić believes.

The President of the Croatian National Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Pejić, says that relations between the two countries must be developed in such a way that both countries benefit. Pejić notes that Croatia must stop interfering in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

„We have nothing against cooperation with Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, and everyone who has good intentions to respect the independence and integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Likewise, we must simply disagree with and resist all those who act contrary to that," Pejić told RSE, NAP reports.
