Ivanić sends condolences to German and Russian presidents

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Joachim Gauck, following last night's attack in Berlin, in which several people were killed, Patria reports.

- Your Excellency, we were deeply shaken by the news of the latest attack in Berlin. We strongly condemn this act of brutal violence, which represents a serious blow to democratic principles and the safety of citizens. On behalf of the citizens of BiH, and in my own name, I extend to you our deepest condolences - stated the telegram from the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić.

We remind that a 23-year-old attacker drove a truck into a crowd of people at a Christmas market. He killed 12 people and injured 50. The attacker was arrested and it was determined that he came to Berlin via the Balkan route. 

Ivanić also sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, following yesterday's murder of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov.

- Your Excellency, we are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the treacherous murder of Ambassador Andrey Karlov in Ankara. We strongly condemn this act of brutal murder, which once again shows that terrorism represents a global threat to security, against which a joint fight is necessary. We sympathize with the pain of the murdered ambassador's family, the Russian people, and your pain. Please accept our deepest condolences - stated the telegram from the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić.
