Ivanić: SNSD engages in unnecessary politicking, but I will not allow the RS to go into isolation!

Instead of a joint session, the second extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today in the Parliament building because there was no quorum of the Serb Club in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for holding the joint session, reports the Patria news agency.

The session was also attended by Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.

Mladen Ivanić, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, assessed this move by the SNSD as unnecessary.

- The SNSD signed a joint declaration on reforms on Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the EU, and that is a good thing. The bad thing is that it unnecessarily created an incident situation that was not needed by anyone. If the SNSD wants to isolate itself, they can and should do so, but I think it is very important that they are not the ones who decide here. As long as I hold any political office, I will not allow the isolation of the RS, and I will do everything to ensure that the RS is an integral part of some broader European environment. That is why I think it is very good that the Alliance for Change was here and firmly stands behind all of this and does not make petty political moves from such events. As far as I am concerned, the RS will never be isolated, and the SNSD is no longer able to isolate the RS with its moves – said Ivanić.
