Ivanić discusses BiH election law with Lajčak in Bratislava

BRATISLAVA, (Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH from Republika Srpska Mladen Ivanić spoke today in Bratislava with the President of the UN General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčak.

Ivanić informed the UNGA President about the current political situation in BiH and expressed concern over disagreements within the Federation of BiH regarding changes to the Election Law. He further emphasized that political differences on this issue could lead to serious political instability and a halt to BiH's European path.

Ivanić and Mr. Lajčak jointly assessed that BiH should take advantage of the current positive climate within European institutions in Brussels and do everything to make a decisive step towards obtaining candidate status.

Minister Lajčak stressed that during his presidency of the UN General Assembly, he will do everything to ensure that UN institutions pay greater attention to BiH.
