Ivanić: Journalists in BiH, given the responsibility of their job, are the lowest paid

On the occasion of May 3, World Press Freedom Day, BiH Presidency member Mladen Ivanić extends congratulations to journalists, editors, media owners, and journalist associations across BiH, with the wish that they continue to uphold high standards of professional, responsible, and impartial journalism, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- I support media freedom and strongly oppose all forms of threats, pressure, and threats to the safety of journalists. Journalism and media freedom are prerequisites for building a democratic and civilized society. Journalists in BiH face additional challenges, as this profession, regardless of the complexity of the job and the responsibility that public speech carries, is among the lowest paid.

I support every form of journalistic struggle for better working conditions and free and quality media, because it is simultaneously a struggle for a more open, tolerant, and successful society.
