Ivanić: Dodik is in a panic, no longer sure if he will remain in power

Leader of PDP and newly elected Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanić told Patria, commenting on the statement by the old-new President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik "that if SDS with SDA tried to form a new government, that government would work against the interests of RS, which he would not allow", that it is only proof of his fear and panic that he is no longer sure of his claim that SNSD with its coalition partners will form a government in RS.

- It is obvious that Dodik is no longer sure of the majority, and that yesterday's signing of the Program Principles by SDA, DF, and the Alliance for Changes has shaken him well. Besides being in a panic that he will not be able to have a parliamentary majority, he is preemptively creating an alibi for himself by delaying the proposal of a mandate holder. So, if the Alliance for Changes forms a parliamentary majority, he would intentionally delay proposing a mandate holder - Ivanić states.

He further explains that the Constitution of RS has not foreseen any legal deadlines for proposing a mandate holder. This practically means that if the Alliance for Changes forms a parliamentary majority and starts forming a new government of RS, Dodik would prevent them from doing so and would not propose a mandate holder.

- Dodik is now sending a message that if we form a parliamentary majority, he will keep the existing government, which he manages, in a technical mandate indefinitely, because there is no constitutionally prescribed deadline for proposing a mandate holder - says Ivanić.
