Ivanić: Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot join the EU with the OHR

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić said today in Banja Luka at a press conference, speaking about fulfilling conditions for European integration, that there will be unified responses from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Commission if the problems are resolved, Patria reports.

Answering questions will not be a problem; that is a technical matter. However, answers are not sufficient for candidate status. Political progress is needed for that, Ivanić emphasized, adding:

-Colleagues from Brussels said it is not realistic to expect progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina as long as the OHR and foreign factors are present in state institutions. It is not realistic to expect that a country that is not politically mature will become a candidate. Either one or the other, a choice will have to be made.
