Ivanić: Banks are failing, and no one is held accountable

Member of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanić believes it is terrible that two banks in Republika Srpska have failed in less than a year, and that someone must be held accountable for this, reports the Patria News Agency.

- This is a very ugly message, which calls for accountability from the authorities and the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska - Ivanić said, commenting on the fact that the Banking Agency of Srpska today introduced a temporary administration in Banka Srpske.

If this case, as he stated, passes as if nothing happened, "it will be terrible".

Ivanić said in Banja Luka that there is huge responsibility on the Government of Republika Srpska to explain why this happened with the bank that was bought in such a situation.

The responsibility of the management of Banka Srpske and the Banking Agency should be investigated, because if that does not happen, he assures, there will be more bank failures, as the message is sent that one can "destroy a bank and get away with it".
