Ivan Kordić: It is a disgrace that Sidran was not admitted to PEN Centre

The fact that Abdulah Sidran was not admitted to membership of the PEN Centre of BiH is a great disgrace for this association, writer Ivan Kordić told the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The election assembly of the PEN Centre of BiH, held today in Sarajevo, did not accept the membership candidacies of three distinguished Bosnian-Herzegovinian writers: Abdulah Sidran, Džemaludin Latić, and Amir Brka.
At the very beginning of the Assembly, Kordić attempted to point out the illegitimacy of the PEN Centre's leadership, as it was not elected according to regulations, but he was quickly outvoted by other members.

- The Reporting Assembly of the PEN Centre was held in April. However, that assembly was misused in a way that the mandate of the PEN Centre's leadership was extended for another four years. That is unacceptable – Kordić said.

- Sidran, along with me and other members, founded the PEN Centre in '92. The fact that his return to membership was not approved today is not good at all. This is a great disgrace for the entire association – Kordić warned, writes Patria.
