Italians greatly exaggerated the price, selling only 14 electric cars

(Patria) - An extremely high price (38,000 euros) is to blame for the fact that the electric car Abarth 500e sold only 14 units in its home Italian market.

Abarth wanted to show that electric cars are not slow and boring, and that they can provide a lot of driving pleasure.

In the case of this model, it is a 155 horsepower electric motor combined with a 42 kWh battery.

It reaches one hundred kilometers per hour in 7 seconds, has a range of up to 265 kilometers, and 80 percent capacity is charged in 35 minutes.

However, as written by Avto-magazin, and reported by Index.hr, the excessively high price of 38,000 euros was too great an obstacle.

Comparable models from other manufacturers with classic engines are significantly cheaper.

Even its slightly older, gasoline-powered model 595, with a more powerful engine and significantly better driving characteristics, is far cheaper (around 12,000 euros).
