Investigating: Who Worked on Independence Day?

Most state institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina worked with reduced capacity today, with only members of the Serb people coming to work, writes the Patria news agency.

In the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Public Relations Service stated that "their colleagues from the FBiH are not working today." We did not receive an answer to the question of whether director Perica Stanić came to work, nor did Stanić answer our calls.

- I don't think it's my place to comment on whether the director is at work - they told us from the SIPA Public Relations Service.

Đuro Knežević, deputy director of SIPA, is not at work.

- I am not working today because I am marking BiH Independence Day - Knežević told Patria.

In the Intelligence-Security Agency, a person who answered the phone and stated they were a member of the Serb people emphasized that OSA has on-duty personnel and that persons of Serb nationality came to work. They also said that the director of OSA, Osman Mehmedagić, briefly came to work and "is within sight.".

The building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is also quite busy, with members of the Serb people coming to work who do not recognize March 1st as a holiday.

Although some MPs and delegates are not at work today, Mladen Bosić's cabinet is working at full capacity, and state employees of Serb ethnicity have duly arrived at work and are working regularly, as confirmed to us by the Service for Joint Affairs of BiH Institutions.

Some ministers from the Council of Ministers of BiH are not in the country at all; for example, Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, is in Geneva, while Mirko Šarović, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, and Saša Dalipagić, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, are in Brussels on a working visit.

At the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, the way holidays are observed is based on place of residence, so director Miro Džakula, although the UIO building is located in Banja Luka, did not come to work today and is not working.

- Colleagues coming from the FBiH are not working today according to the current act. Other colleagues coming from RS are working, as am I - said UIO spokesperson Ratko Kovačević.

In the Government of FBiH, no one answered most of the available landline numbers for various services, nor in the Parliament of FBiH, which means that there were no people who came to work in these two institutions today, with March 1st also declared a non-working day in FBiH.
