Investigation concluded: Firecracker was not aimed at the BiH Armed Forces vehicle, Jeleč was passing by chance

The firecracker was not thrown at the vehicle of the Chief of the BiH Armed Forces, Ante Jeleč, but the vehicle of the first soldier of BiH happened to be at that spot entirely by chance at that moment. This has been confirmed for the Bosnian news agency Patria by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Mostar.

On Friday evening, a real drama unfolded in the Salakovac tunnel near Mostar, after it was reported that an explosive device was activated in front of the car of the Chief of the BiH Armed Forces, Ante Jeleč, in which fortunately no one was injured.

The incident was reported to the police by Jeleč himself. The matter appeared more serious because just two days earlier, two BiH Armed Forces soldiers were killed in Sarajevo.

In Jeleč's case, the investigation showed that no one attempted to kill or intimidate the general. A 24-year-old man confessed to Mostar investigators that he activated the firecracker near the tunnel, but that he did not think it would scare anyone, as he was sure that he and his colleagues were alone on the road, NAP writes.
