Investigation against Goran Zubac in final stages!

The investigation against Goran Zubac, director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH, for negligence in service during the attack on the BiH Presidency on February 7 is in its final stages, the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) has confirmed with the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

State Prosecutor Miroslav Marković launched an investigation against the head of SIPA because he ignored the call to defend the building of the BiH Presidency, which was set on fire by demonstrators. In response to the inquiry from the BiH news agency Patria regarding whether the investigation against Zubac has been concluded, the Prosecutor's Office stated:

- Regarding the inquiry you are interested in, we can say that the investigation is in its final stages.

Other details about the investigation and a possible indictment were not available, nor was confirmation that Zubac had been questioned as a suspect at the Prosecutor's Office.

Zubac is suspected of not taking all necessary actions that could have prevented the terrorist attack on the BiH Presidency building. State Prosecutor Miroslav Marković also sent a letter to the Independent Police Oversight Body of BiH, informing them that an order to conduct an investigation against the head of SIPA had been issued.

- Goran Zubac refused the request of the Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies for the engagement of a unit from the State Investigation and Protection Agency, for special support which, in accordance with the Rulebook on Internal Organization and Systematization of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, is trained and equipped for independent action against various forms of terrorism, and in situations where the use of basic police and criminal justice forces is insufficient or unreliable in security and other aspects - the letter from the State Prosecutor's Office states.

The information was sent to the Independent Oversight Body of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as the body responsible for proposing the dismissal of police officials and deputy police officials of BiH police bodies, NAP reports.
