(Patria) – An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale shook Istanbul on Thursday, the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute reported.
The epicenter was located 70 km west of the Sea of Marmara, south of the city of Silivri.
Schools were closed, and some hospitals evacuated, agencies report.
