Isović: In 2019, 5.3 billion BAM of public revenues were paid

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Taxpayers paid 5,300,562,600 BAM of public revenues in 2019 for which the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH is responsible. The total collected public revenues in 2019 were highest in Sarajevo Canton 2,013,738,327 (37.99 percent), and lowest in Posavina Canton 50,209,912 BAM (0.955 percent). The increase compared to 2018 is 118,140,288 BAM (2.28 percent), and the increase in collection compared to 2014 is 39.62 percent, said the acting director of the Tax Administration of FBiH, Šerif Isović, at today's press conference.

"The growth of public revenues and the continuously increased payments of public revenues by taxpayers have contributed to the expansion and increase of that state capacity. This creates prerequisites for achieving a stable and advanced Bosnia and Herzegovina. Paying five billion and 300 million BAM is not easy, especially in the socio-economic and political environment we have in BiH," said Isović.

Isović called on all taxpayers to operate legally, to use their money for business improvement, investments, development, for paying employees' salaries, and not to spend hard-earned money on paying fines and interest.

According to him, the goal of the Tax Administration is for every taxpayer to fulfill their obligations, to report and pay them voluntarily, and to report every employee.

According to the data of the Tax Administration, the number of employed persons has also increased by 12.6 percent since 2014. At the end of 2019, there were 535,937 employed persons in FBiH.

The largest number of employed persons, almost 160 thousand, or 28.17 percent, are in the age group of 35 to 45 years.
